SS209: Improving Threat Image Projection for X-Ray Systems
The majority of cabinet screening systems in the United States have onboard computer based training systems. These systems involve both operator training, commonly referred to as OTS and testing programs commonly known as threat image projection or TIP. Utilizing these tools allows screeners to practice x-ray interpretation at any time during the week. They also allow mangers to test screener’s ability to detect threats. However, most of the systems have very limited threat libraries and the ones that day do not account for complex images and poor angles. This class will discuss the capabilities and limitations of OTS and TIP as well as a program for improving the quality of the images in order to produce highly trained screeners.
