Mail services are an integral part of any organization, delivering key data across the business. Many times, the mailroom goes out of sight/out of mind which can lead to inefficiencies, security risks, increased fees and cost overruns. In 2023 there are other challenges with finding resources to maintain operations and staffing levels that are needed. Pandemic Learning for Mail Centers

Mail Services was often deemed as a ‘back of house’ service that rarely shared was in the spotlight unless something went missing. Mail went from an afterthought to the front line as a critical part of every business. With the return to office along with many companies moving towards flexible work arrangements, the methods of how mail is being delivered continues to evolve. The rush to digitize mail had several companies struggling for a solution, often forgetting about the corporate archival aspect of the business. The session will share many of the lessons we learned during the pandemic from multiple customers/clients as well as answer questions from the participants. Companies are looking for ways to reduce overall costs. Part of the efforts include consolidating management of services under one group or provider. Facilities Management (FM) is an area that has been outsourced for many years and is now expanding into many of the ‘soft’ and employee experience service offerings. FM providers are now investing substantially in growing these markets and utilizing cross functionally trained personnel to reduce overall costs as the inbound mail markets continue to trend downwards.
