SESSION AI382

Next Generation Mail Centers

Mail services continue to evolve with many companies changing their remote and ‘in office’ requirement for their employees.  Agile seating versus assigned seats making the traditional delivery methods challenging while also creating restrictions to adequately maintain a chain of custody for accountable/trackable items.  Mail centers have always been business critical and the changes to delivery platforms that allow for almost instant deliveries in a mail center that is often not staffed to provide that same speed create opportunities and a need to define parameters in which we operate.  Cost factors also influence the mail center, so companies look for ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs and restrict services, without necessarily addressing the instant gratification component for their employees.  We will show some methods that we have seen within the industry to close these gaps, but as with many, these options have tradeoffs to be considered.  The session will help identify these gaps and provide some solutions that have been proven to work within the industry.
