What to Measure to Effectively Manage a Mail Center
Peter Drucker is quoted as saying “you can’t manage what you can’t measure”. The session will cover the primary ways we measure performance and the effectiveness of our mail operations, often through Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Many mail centers today track some SLAs and KPIs as a measurement and management tool, while some only track volumetric data. We will discuss what the difference is between SLAs and KPIs while also showing some of the other methods that can be used to effectively manage the volumetric data to drive staffing decisions and discussions. Regardless of if you are managing a vendor or if you are managing a mail services team, having the right tools, processes and measurements in place will help make your operation more effective. With the session we will cover many of the tools we see in the industry while also providing some insight into how to more effectively manage your mail center.
